Michael is founder of New DBA Solutions, is an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Applications DBA and senior information systems architect with 24 years of experience in the software industry. After receiving his B.S. from M.I.T. in Aeronautics and Astronautics, he was employed as a software engineer, principally on the GPS satellite program at Rockwell Corporation. For the past 18 years, Michael has worked as an Oracle Applications DBA. He began as a full-time DBA for a financial services company, moved into consulting with an Oracle preferred partner, then served as a Technical Manager for Oracle Consulting before founding New DBA Solutions. Michael has implemented many core Oracle products for clients, in conjunction with and independent of E-Business Suite (EBS), including RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Fusion Middleware, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), in which he is a recognized authority. Michael authored the first book on OEM 10g Grid Control, and in 2013 was co-author of a book on OEM Cloud Control 12c, both published by McGraw-Hill / Oracle Press. He has also been a technical editor, and a presenter at Oracle OpenWorld and numerous Oracle user group events. Michael lives in New York City with his wife and two 10 year-old daughters.
